Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design and scale high-availability networks for service providers or enterprise environments. You will lead the move to next-generation architectures, including Segment Routing, and drive improvements to core routing protocols.

You will architect MPLS-based services, manage RSVP-TE and LDP, mentor engineers, and own automation initiatives to reduce manual configuration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in large-scale network engineering and architecture.
• Expert-level mastery of link-state routing protocols, including OSPF and ISIS.
• Deep expertise in BGP, including iBGP, eBGP, communities, and policy routing.
• Advanced knowledge of MPLS, including L2/L3 VPNs, multicast, and RSVP traffic engineering.
• Strong understanding of network security, quality of service (QoS), and high-availability network design.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in a field related to computer networking.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale high-availability networks for service providers or enterprises.
• Lead transition to next-generation architectures, including Segment Routing.
• Optimize core routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP) for performance and stability.
• Architect and maintain MPLS-based services (RSVP-TE, LDP).
• Serve as final escalation point during large-scale outages.
• Mentor junior and senior engineers to raise team expertise.
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual configuration and errors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
