Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Principal Network Engineer for the AI Infrastructure - Network Operations team at OCI in Seattle. You will design, deploy, and operate RDMA/RoCE fabrics across a global cloud environment, leading projects and driving automation for reliability and scale.

You will collaborate with product and infrastructure teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to engineering best practices. The role emphasizes operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with large-scale network operations, design, troubleshooting.
• Expertise in routing and switching technologies (BGP, OSPF, EVPN‑VXLAN, MPLS, data center networking).
• Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, APIs, or similar.
• Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, telemetry, and incident management.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, hyperscale environments, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Ability to lead technical projects and influence outcomes across multiple teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead network lifecycle management initiatives by defining objectives, delivery plans, and procedures for large-scale network projects.
• Translate high-level network architectures into detailed designs and deployment plans ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Serve as the technical lead for moderately complex network projects, coordinating engineers across design, deployment, automation, and operations.
• Design, implement, and support network solutions across data center, backbone, cloud, and service provider environments.
• Partner with owners and infra teams to ensure networks are integrated with monitoring, observability, automation, and support systems.
• Act as Tier 2 escalation point for network incidents, driving root cause analysis and long-term improvements.
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex network issues and large-scale service-impacting events.
