Job summary

Belcan is seeking a remote Principal MRB Engineer to support manufacturing teams with substantiation reviews to determine acceptability of aircraft engine hardware. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience substantiating nonconformances from the manufacturing process and mentor junior engineers to increase technical knowledge and project efficiency.

You will mentor junior engineers, perform stress calculations, review repairs for post-repair acceptability to meet drawings and mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or relevant field.
• Experience with manufacturing processes including thermal spray coatings, castings, FPI, shot peen, milling & turning.
• Familiarity with hand calculations for stress.
• Familiarity with FEA software (ANSYS) is desirable.

• Mentor and develop Junior Engineers who perform analysis to document acceptability of parts to include stress calculations, tolerance stack ups, and leveraging of previous analysis.

• Communicate with cross-function engineering teams (internally and externally) to meet directives.

Ideal candidate will have significant experience substantiating nonconformances that arise from the manufacturing process. Principal MRB engineer will evaluate and mentor junior engineers to increase technical knowledge and increase efficiency and effectiveness in their projects.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Prior Material Review Board (MRB) certification from major aerospace company producing gas turbine engines.
