Job summary

Motional is seeking an experienced Principle Level Tech Lead Manager to build and lead a new ML Acceleration team. You will drive strategy, development, and execution to speed up ML model training and enable rapid hot-patching for deployed autonomous vehicle services.

You will recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of ML and infra engineers, blending hands-on technical leadership with people management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in ML systems and model optimization.
• 3+ years in technical lead or management role leading teams.
• Extensive experience with large-scale ML training and deployment in production.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a high-performing ML acceleration team.
• Define and execute the technical strategy for ML acceleration.
• Collaborate with ML research, training platforms, and product teams.
• Measure impact and drive continuous optimization and innovation.
