Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain mechanical systems supporting government missions. You will apply engineering principles, perform analyses, and work with cross-functional teams to integrate systems across disciplines such as electrical, software, and aerospace engineering.

The role requires a STEM degree with relevant experience and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance; CAD modelling with Siemens NX or similar tools is essential.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of related experience; or a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience
  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • Requires 2 years demonstrated experience working with external customer to meet program expectations in a timely and efficient manner
  • Requires experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar
  • Requires experience in Systems Engineering/Life Cycle Design, GD&T, and manufacturing
  • Requires experience with MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Apply mechanical engineering principles to design and develop new systems, modify existing systems, and troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures, while ensuring compliance with government regulations and industry standards
  • Perform mechanical analysis, simulations, and testing to validate designs, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with other disciplines such as electrical, software, and aerospace engineering
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design drawings, technical reports, and test plans, and will provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members

  • Demonstrated experience using the following tools: ANSYS, MATLAB, or equivalents
  • Teamcenter/CPLM experience
  • Minuteman III Weapon System Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience working with government customer
  • Experience managing programs/projects

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
