Job summary

MKS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Andover to partner with manufacturing, supply chain, applications, and customers in developing and supporting vacuum valves. You will contribute to design, analysis, and detailed drawings for new products and assemblies.

You will work with customers and applications engineers to understand requirements, perform CFD/FEA analyses, and prototype, test, and refine designs for manufacturability and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Masters in Engineering.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks).
  • Experience with manual and FEA stress analysis.
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modeling.
  • Experience with Vacuum Technology.
  • Experience with mechanical fabrication techniques (machining, welding, brazing, sheet metal).
  • Knowledge of Engineering Change Order Process.
  • Technical experience in product development and manufacturing.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and development of advanced mechanical products used across multiple industries.
  • Collaborate with a team focused on vacuum valve development.
  • Develop specifications, perform analysis, create 3D models, and drawings for new products and assemblies.
  • Partner with customers and applications engineers to meet requirements.
  • Use SolidWorks Simulation, Comsol, or Ansys for stress and motion analysis.
  • Prototype, test and improve product designs with engineering teams.
  • Work with manufacturing/operations to ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable.
  • Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle.
  • Ensure products meet quality, performance, and regulatory requirements through testing and verification.

A Day in the Life at MKS:

As a Mechanical Engineer at MKS Andover, you will partner with manufacturing, supply chain, applications, and customers to develop and support vacuum valves.

You Will Make an Impact By:
  • In this role, you will make a meaningful impact by contributing to the design and development of advanced mechanical products used across multiple industries.
  • Collaborate with a team ofproduct design engineersfocused onvacuum valve development
  • Contribute to thespecification development, analysis, design, 3D modeling, and creation of detailed engineering drawingsfor new products and assemblies.
  • Partner directly with customersand applications engineers to understand application requirements and develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Use Analysis tools such as Solidworks Simulation, Comsol, or Ansys to perform stress and motion analysis
  • Work closely with engineering teams toprototype, test and improve product designs.
  • Collaborate withmanufacturing and operations teamsthroughout theproduct development, launch, and scale-up to volume productionto ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable.
  • Participate in all phases of theproduct development lifecycle, includingconcept development, feasibility validation, design, prototyping, testing, and production release.
  • Ensure all products meetquality standards, performance expectations, and regulatory requirementsthrough thoroughtesting, validation, and design verificationprocesses.
Skills You Bring:
  • Bachelor of Science, or Masters of Science in Engineering.
  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks)

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
  • Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination
  • Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for 90% of the time
  • Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Pay Range: $ 126,200.00 - 210,350.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
