Our Space Systems is hiring for either a Principal Manufacturing Engineer (level 3) or a Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer (level 4). This position will be located in Goleta, CA.

Core Responsibilities:

• Designs manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.

• Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.

• Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

• Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

• May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

• Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates problems to ensure product quality.

• Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control.

• Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

• Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Manufacturing Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree from a STEM program with 5 years of demonstrated manufacturing engineering experience, or a Master's degree from a STEM program with 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.

• Must have experience leading manufacturing engineering projects.

• Must have experience developing RCCAs and tools associated.

• Must be able to generate work instructions using drawings or models.

• Must have an understanding and familiarity with Design for manufacturability.

Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree from a STEM program with 9 years of demonstrated manufacturing engineering experience, or a Master's degree from a STEM program with 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience.

• Must have experience leading manufacturing engineering projects.

• Must have experience developing RCCAs and tools associated.

• Must be able to generate work instructions using drawings or models.

• Must have an understanding and familiarity with Design for manufacturability.
