Job summary

SkyWater Technology is seeking an experienced UPW Technician to operate and maintain an Ultra-Pure Water system in a semiconductor facility. The role requires deep knowledge of UPW/IWN processes, daily collaboration with operations staff, and strong troubleshooting skills to keep systems in spec.

The candidate should have 10+ years in a water plant environment, High School or GED, and be proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the UPW and IWN process systems on a daily basis.
• Coordinate with operation personnel and facilities engineers and other technicians.
• Troubleshoot field devices and process equipment to identify out-of-spec conditions and support recovery.
• Write work plans for scheduled maintenance with minimal unplanned impacts.
• Support installation, startup, and commissioning activities for UPW instrumentation.

Major Areas of Accountability

The UPW Technician shall have skills in system operation and maintenance for an Ultra-Pure Water System in a semiconductor factory. The candidate must have knowledge of UPW process and perform routine operations task(s) pertaining to the UPW / IWN equipment and systems using computer interface, performing maintenance activities on UPW and IWN equipment, test equipment, loading/unloading UPW resin, RO membranes, filters including installation and commissioning. The candidate must have facilities expertise in the following process phases: operation, maintenance, start up, and commissioning.

Daily responsibilities include supporting the operation and maintenance of the UPW and IWN process systems. The job requires daily interface with operation personnel and facilities engineers and other technicians to work in an operating factory. The position demands excellent team player skills. All work on these systems requires detailed understanding of the process equipment and work plans such as Standard Operating Procedures. In addition to the daily operational needs for the system the position will require excellent troubleshooting skills for all aspects i.e. mechanical equipment, valves, instruments, and controls interface.

Specific Job/Position Requirements

• Participate as a member of the RODI operations team working with the SkyWater Technologies UPW System Owner to ensure accurate and complete operations deliverables.
• Good technical writing skills. Must be able to write work plans for scheduled maintenance work to be conducted without any unplanned impacts, i.e. rotating equipment, workarounds, and bringing systems back online.
• Navigate SkyWater Facilities Operation systems and understand functionality on screens.
• Monitor and understand operational trends and SPC charts.
• Understanding of overall system installation from a process implementation standpoint.
• Troubleshooting of field devices and process equipment to clearly identify process out of spec conditions and assist in root cause analysis and recovery of system to in spec state of operation.
• Strong understanding of Ultra-Pure Water and Industrial Wastewater Systems and Operation.
• Shall have experience with all types of UPW instrumentation including Flow, Pressure, Temperature, Conductivity, Control Valves, etc. installation and application.

Experience with previous UPW and IWN sites is preferred.
