Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise seeks a Principal Linux Driver Engineer to lead Linux kernel driver development for Slingshot interconnects. You will collaborate with ASIC, hardware, firmware, and system software teams to deliver high‑performance networking software across NICs and fabric switching technologies.

The role requires deep Linux kernel expertise, advanced C, and a track record of driving large software projects in production environments. Hybrid work with office presence is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• 12+ years software engineering with Linux kernel driver experience.
• Expert-level C and low-level systems software skills.
• Experience with high-performance networking and kernel networking subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and development of Linux kernel drivers for Slingshot products.
• Define interfaces and influence hardware/firmware architecture.
• Develop and optimize networking software for performance and observability.
• Drive products through architecture, bring-up, validation, and production deployment.
• Lead investigations and root-cause analysis across disciplines.
• Develop telemetry, diagnostics, and recovery capabilities.
• Collaborate with ASIC, hardware, firmware, and system software teams.
• Provide technical leadership via reviews and mentoring.
