Job summary

Unisys is seeking a senior Linux Administrator to provide ongoing systems administration across locations. You will manage installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux environments, lead incident response, and help shape Linux strategy.

The role requires strong Red Hat Linux expertise, KVM, clustering, AIX, Unix, VMware, and experience with DR/HA in OCI and Azure. U.S. citizenship and residency are required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience; master's preferred
• Expert-level Linux systems administration and enterprise infrastructure design
• Experience with Red Hat Linux, including KVM and clustering
• Experience with AIX, Unix, VMware
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and high availability in cloud environments (OCI and Azure)
• U.S. Citizenship and residency required

**What success looks like in this role:****U.S. citizenship and U.S. residency required.**# Position SummaryThe Linux Admin provides ongoing Systems Administration support, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, applications, and connectivity components for Linux environments across multiple locations. This role provides technical support and advises on the use of programming tools, database systems, and networks.Operational responsibilities include remediation of daily incident tickets, system compliance, system run enhancement, testing, staging, policy/procedure enhancement, client contact coordination, and operational recommendations to address availability and reliability issues on Linux systems, while playing a lead role in shaping Linux systems strategy across the company.# Core Responsibilities**Leadership & Strategy*** Plays a lead role in Systems Administration across the company, building on responsibilities such as:* *\"May serve as team lead, allocating work assignments, ensuring work-load balance across the team and providing technical and procedural guidance for less experienced team members.\"** Ensures alignment of systems design and strategy with corporate business requirements and objectives.* Initiates and implements automation and process intelligence tools to support data-driven decisions, increased efficiency, and AI integration.**Business & Systems Alignment*** Applies extensive knowledge of the business and user community in systems design, development, and support.* Translates long-term business requirements into systems and infrastructure design.* Contributes to the design, development, and maintenance of Systems Administration infrastructure (operating systems, virtualization platforms, Cloud infrastructure, directory and identity services, monitoring and management, middleware and applications).**Infrastructure & Technical Advisory*** Provides infrastructure leadership for hardware and software systems support.* Advises and consults company-wide on the resolution of unique, complex, or business critical issues.**You will be successful in this role if you have:*** BA/BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.* Master's degree preferred.* Expert-level expertise in Linux systems administration and enterprise infrastructure design.* Proven ability to lead technical teams and advise across the organization on complex, business-critical issues.* Experience with Red Hat Linux, including KVM and clustering.* Experience with AIX.* Familiarity with Unix.* Familiarity with VMware.* Required knowledge of disaster recovery (DR) and high-availability (HA) principles, including in cloud environments - Oracle OCI and Microsoft Azure.* U.S. Citizenship and U.S. residency required.#LI-JV1This role may require access to export-controlled commodities and technology.
