Job summary

NetApp Trident team seeks a Principal Engineer to define the Kubernetes storage story for one of the industry’s established platforms. You will own architectural decisions, drive adoption of cloud-native storage solutions, and represent the team in open-source and customer forums.

You will work with upstream communities, product management, and customers to deliver scalable storage for containerized environments, guiding cross‑functional engineering with focus on Go, Python, Kubernetes, and

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong coding skills in Go and Python.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and ecosystem.
• Experience with hyperscaler platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with NetApp storage platforms or cloud-native storage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; Agile/Scrum experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and guide critical technical decisions.
• Provide technical leadership across teams and programs.
• Partner with product management on roadmap planning.
• Engage with customers on escalations, requirements, and validation.
• Drive continuous improvement in development, quality, and delivery.
• Represent the Kubernetes storage solution in open-source and industry settings.
