Job summary

Air Products is recruiting for a field-based technician in Allentown to deliver technical support and service for rental equipment. You will perform electrical and mechanical repairs, calibrate analytical instruments, and maintain inventory in a fast-paced setting.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years in a lab or similar environment, strong safety practices, and solid communication skills. HS diploma or GED required; valid driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in a laboratory or equivalent environment is required.
  • Safe work habits in accordance with safety, health and environmental rules.
  • Hands-on experience with gases, chemicals and analytical equipment is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers in the field.
  • Service and repair equipment requiring electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Calibrate and maintain analytical equipment.
  • Provide on-demand rental equipment to customers and plant sites in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform data entry and database maintenance to track rentals, calibrations, and inventory.
  • Work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and safety compliance.

Required Skills / Abilities
  • Producing and interpreting equipment drawings and manuals.
  • Ability to custom build and retrofit equipment.
  • Safe and proficient use of hand and power tools.
  • Applying electricity and electronics theory to repair and rebuild equipment.
  • Computer hardware and software applications including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
