Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Principal Human Factors Engineer – AiBLE Validation to design and lead real-world clinical and customer evaluations across cranial, spine, and ENT surgery. You will translate observations into actionable design evidence that enhances usability, efficiency, and patient outcomes while guiding teams and stakeholders.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product, R&D, quality, and operations, and ensure adherence to usability standards. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a STEM field with relevant experience in human factors and usability.
• Experience designing and leading real-world clinical/customer evaluations.
• Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and execute real-world clinical/customer evaluations in surgical environments.
• Validate improvements in workflow, usability, and clinical outcomes within AiBLE ecosystem.
• Develop usability strategies and document evaluation outcomes.
• Lead and mentor engineers, fostering innovation and accountability.
• Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Quality, and Operations to balance objectives.
