GeoWorld is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical leadership for mining engineering projects across the United States and beyond. This role offers hybrid work arrangements with minimal travel requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience.
• Spanish language proficiency a plus for international teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Geotechnical Engineering community and Mining Sector Team.
• Act as Engineer of Record on mining projects.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities.
• Lead engineering project teams and manage external inputs.
• Perform geotechnical engineering reviews and provide key input.

Skills

Mine tailings and water dam siting, design and evaluations

Mine high wall investigations and slope stability analysis

Direct and support Dam Safety Reviews

Geotechnical investigation, monitoring methods and techniques

Soft-ground mechanics and stabilization techniques

Strong written and verbal communication

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Education

B.S. degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or closely related field

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Postgraduate degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or closely related field
