Job summary

At Atlassian, a Principal Full Stack Engineer leads cross-product onboarding and CrossFlow initiatives across Confluence, Loom, and Jira, bridging React/TypeScript frontends with robust backend services and experimentation infra.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of full stack software engineering with demonstrated impact at a Staff/Principal level leading large, ambiguous multi-team initiatives.
• Experience in growth-focused environments with experimentation (A/B, multivariate tests, telemetry).
• Expertise in TypeScript, React, frontend performance optimization, micro-frontends and accessible component architectures.
• Backend service development with Java/Kotlin/Go/Python, GraphQL/REST APIs, microservices, and AWS cloud.
• Experience designing extensible APIs and shared UI components across multiple host applications.
• Hands-on telemetry pipelines, event tracking schema design, and data querying to diagnose funnel drop-offs and attribution.
• Strong collaborative leadership and communication to align engineers, PMs, designers, and data scientists.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision and architectural patterns for multi-product onboarding and cross-flow experiences across Confluence, Loom, and TWC.
• Write production-grade code for high-complexity full stack features spanning React/TypeScript micro-frontends and scalable backend microservices.
• Architect fast, robust experimentation frameworks and instrumentation to power rapid hypothesis testing and conversion optimization.
• Partner across product boundaries to deliver seamless shared surfaces and cohesive API contracts.
• Safeguard performance, reliability, and observability while driving down operational toil and defect rates.
• Mentor senior engineers, author RFCs/tech specs, and elevate the technical craft across the Growth organization.
