Job description

Principal Firmware Verification Engineer (ONSITE)

Join to apply for the Principal Firmware Verification Engineer (ONSITE) role at Collins Aerospace.

This position involves creating complex firmware verification solutions for FPGAs, SOCs, and CPLDs, including laboratory integration, testing, fault isolation, and system qualification support. Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities
  1. Generate firmware verification requirements based on system architecture.
  2. Develop firmware verification documentation, including test plans and coverage reports.
  3. Build UVMF/SystemVerilog testbenches with agents, predictors, scoreboards, and test cases.
  4. Create scripts to automate verification activities.
  5. Lead and mentor firmware engineers.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in UVMF, SystemVerilog, and VHDL.
  • Proven verification experience across multiple designs and applications.
  • Experience with communication interfaces like AXI, SPI, I2C, PCIe, UART, or Gb Ethernet.
  • Proficiency with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and debugging tools.
  • Degree in STEM with at least 8 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • FPGA design experience with VHDL.
  • Formal Verification experience.
  • Scripting skills in TCL, Perl, or Python.
  • Experience with source control tools like GIT, SVN, or ClearCase.
  • Experience in Agile development teams.
