Job summary

The State Bar of California’s Office of Finance is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to manage comprehensive accounting and financial responsibilities across grants, budgeting, audits, and general ledger. The role supervises staff, collaborates with internal/external stakeholders, and supports special projects with minimal direction.

Experience in governmental grant accounting and budgeting is desired; Oracle Fusion experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to essential duties.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ journey level professional financial analysis or accounting; or four (4) years with two (2) year supervisorial experience.

Responsibilities

  • Mentors, plans and prioritizes the work of professional, technical or clerical staff.
  • Develops fiscal policies, procedures, and financial statements.
  • Prepares and distributes financial statements and reports for management.
  • Performs complex financial or accounting duties across general ledger, grants, investments, payroll, audits.
  • Evaluates internal controls and accounting procedures; recommends improvements.
  • Plans monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing of State Bar books and reports.
