A Day in the Life The Cranial and Spine Service team develops and delivers technical training that enables Medtronic field service professionals and customer biomedical teams to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex medical technologies. This role is ideal for technical professionals who enjoy solving difficult electrical and electromechanical challenges, interpreting schematics, and translating complex concepts into practical training. Supporting a global service organization, the position focuses primarily on imaging and x-ray based systems within the Cranial and Spine portfolio. While this position is posted as remote, training activities are conducted at the Lafayette, Colorado facility. The role requires onsite presence a minimum of two weeks per month to facilitate instructor‑led training and support hands‑on learning activities, so living a reasonable driving distance from this facility is required. Up to 25% domestic and international travel may be required. This role is responsible for designing and delivering technical training programs for field service engineers and biomedical professionals supporting Cranial and Spine technologies. Success in this position requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, the ability to interpret schematics and complex system designs, and the capability to translate technical concepts into effective learning experiences. Unlike a traditional instructional design role, this position requires hands‑on technical expertise and the ability to develop training content directly from engineering documentation, repair procedures, and circuit‑level troubleshooting activities. It is also not a clinical training role; candidates are expected to bring technical knowledge of electrical, electronic, or electromechanical systems rather than clinical or patient‑facing expertise. The individual will develop training content, lead classroom and hands‑on instruction, and serve as a technical expert for troubleshooting and repair methodologies.
