Akkodis is seeking a Principal Enterprise Cloud Architect for a DIRECT HIRE position based in Merrillville, IN. The desired candidate will have 10+ years of IT experience, including 7+ years of cloud architecture and design responsibilities. The Principal Enterprise Cloud Architect is a strategic leader responsible for aligning enterprise architecture with business goals through vision, transformation roadmaps, and technology standards. This role builds consensus across business and IT leaders, provides thought leadership in solution development, and ensures architectures are scalable, secure, and future-ready.

• Job Title: Principal Enterprise Cloud Architect
• Employment Type: Direct Hire
• Location: Merrillville, IN (Hybrid) (relocation assistance provided)
• Salary Range: $160-190k base + bonus potential

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Define and communicate the enterprise’s architectural direction to support business strategy. Act as a visionary to guide leaders in making informed technology investment decisions.
• Solution Architecture: Translate business needs into high-level designs and architecture blueprints for complex solutions. Advise on options, risks, costs, and benefits to ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
• Governance & Operations: Establish standards, best practices, and reference materials. Lead architecture reviews, exception management, and governance processes.
• Innovation: Research and evaluate emerging technologies, recommending innovative solutions to strengthen enterprise architecture. Stay current on industry trends and integrate relevant advances.
• Collaboration: Partner with business and technology leaders, vendors, and engineering teams to ensure architectural guidance is embedded in solution delivery. Serve as a trusted advisor across multiple domains.

Required Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 10+ years in enterprise-wide architecture with strong cloud expertise (Azure, VMware, Kubernetes, ServiceNow, Mulesoft, Docker, Cisco, Palo Alto, Equinix, cloud migrations).
• Technical Depth: Broad knowledge of APIs, automation, infrastructure as code, cloud services, security, networking, storage, databases, and end-user computing.
• Architecture Knowledge: API-first design, TOGAF, ITIL, and other frameworks.
• Skills: Strong consultative abilities, cross-functional leadership, and advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, LeanIX.
• Preferred: Background in application development, systems management, or project management.
• Note: Not looking for a cloud migration architect; we need expertise in building a cloud environment for the enterprise.
