Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or PMP certification with 10+ years in data-center engineering consulting
  • Minimum 6 years as PM or engineer with an engineering consulting firm on data center projects
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Experience with hyperscale data centers as consultant or directly
  • Skilled in cost/workhour estimating and proposal development
  • Ability to manage scope, schedule and cost across multiple projects
  • Knowledge of earned value management and progress reporting
  • Experience with contract language and NDAs
  • Budgeting and accounting process familiarity
  • Strong coordination, leadership and communication skills
  • MS Project/Word/Excel/PowerPoint proficiency
  • Willingness to travel 10-15% of time

Responsibilities

  • Lead client and team relationships; deliver exceptional service and foster partnerships
  • Direct projects by developing detailed engineering proposals, managing schedules, and recovery plans
  • Create work plans, risk management, comms plans, and WBS for execution
  • Oversee schedules and financial health; apply scheduling tools
  • Manage engineers, designers, subcontractors; ensure quality deliverables
  • Maintain client relationships, manage scope, support proposals and opportunities
  • Plan, implement and supervise client contracts; travel to facilities as needed

  • Client & Team Relations: Demonstrate professionalism and dedication, providing exceptional service to both clients and teammates, while fostering positive relationships
  • Project Leadership: Lead projects by collaborating with technical colleagues to develop detailed engineering proposals, managing schedules, and executing recovery plans when needed
  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive work plans, risk management strategies, communication plans, and work breakdown structures to ensure smooth project execution
  • Scheduling & Financial Management: Oversee project schedules, apply advanced scheduling tools, and manage the financial health of projects, ensuring timely reporting and performance tracking
  • Team & Resource Management: Manage engineers, designers, and subcontractors, ensuring quality deliverables, while supporting internal standards and resource management
  • Client & Business Development: Maintain strong client relationships, manage project scope, and support marketing efforts, including proposal preparation and identifying new opportunities
  • Contract & Project Oversight: Plan, implement, and supervise client contracts, ensuring successful project execution, while traveling to client facilities as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR PMP Certification and 10 years experience in engineering consulting, project manager or data center
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a project manager or engineer with an engineering consulting firm doing data center projects
  • PMP certification preferred
  • The ideal candidate has worked with a hyperscale data center directly or indirectly as a consultant, which is required
  • Skilled in cost / workhour estimating and proposal development and review
  • Capable of reporting on and managing scope, schedule, and cost for multiple projects executing simultaneously
  • Knowledge in earned value management and progress reporting
  • Experienced in contract and non-disclosure agreement language development and review
  • Ability to understand and work with budget and accounting processes
  • Strong coordination and team building skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills
  • Ability to read and write technically and coherently
  • Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and teams
  • Working knowledge of MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel between 10%-15% of the time which may include fieldwork; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs
Compensation Range

USD $140,000.00 - USD $185,000.00 /Yr.
