Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Systems Integration and Test Systems Engineer - Level 3 to support the Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Nuclear Surety (NS) Team located in Chandler, AZ.

Responsibilities
  • Support the certification activities related to boost vehicle design certification, safety design, and compatibility design
  • Ensure hardware/software design complies with conventional and nuclear armament safety requirements.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements.
  • Manage and lead diverse technical teams in conducting the analyses and tests required to obtain nuclear and/or conventional certification for applicable configurations.
  • Manage and lead the planning and execution of analyses and tests required to obtain nuclear and/or conventional certification for applicable configurations.
  • Identify, manage, and demonstrate compliance with armament certification requirements, including Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements traceability, and verification activities.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, Systems, or related engineering field with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines: nuclear design, aerospace, mechanical, electrical, software, nuclear hardness, nuclear surety and safety, materials.
  • Electrical and software engineering design or requirements compliance experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) development and government acquisition processes.
  • Experience with decision-making processes: risk and opportunity management, cost benefit analysis, make/buy decisions.
  • Must have a U.S. Government Secret security clearance prior to start
Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge and understanding of governing certifications, specifications, and directives with emphasis on Air Force Instruction (DAFI) 63-125, Department of the Air Force Manual (DAFMAN) 91-101, 91-118, 91-119, AFI 91-208, and MIL-STD 1822, 1760, 464, 461, 704, 1553, 810, 882 and 1289.
  • Also, MIL-HDBK-516, and 1763.
  • Experience completing Nuclear Surety deliverables such as Critical Signal Analysis (CSA), Nuclear Surety Evaluations (NSE), Nuclear Safety Analysis Reports (NSAR), Unauthorized Launch (UL) studies.
  • Knowledge of Launch Vehicle systems and designs.
  • Experience designing or analyzing electrical and software components for aerospace applications.
  • Experience completing Qualification/Verification testing and analysis of electrical and software components.
Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
