Job summary

Verint Systems, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead design and development of cloud-first, full-stack software products.

You will collaborate with product management, development, operations, and client services to craft scalable solutions and drive process and technology improvements. The role requires 8+ years of architecture experience, expertise in Node.js/Java, React or similar JS UI tools, and hands-on cloud, container, and CI/CD proficiencies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in design and architect of large-scale applications.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field.
• Experience developing quality into the entire system.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and providing technical leadership on cutting-edge software development projects.
• Hands-on experience across full technology stack in developing and architecting web applications for large enterprise customers.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Able to troubleshoot and identify root causes while liaising with engineering teams, support and end customers.
• Experience with full stack development.
• Experience with Node.js and/or Java.
• Familiarity with JavaScript UI libraries such as React, Angular or Vue.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with GIT.
• Familiarity with test automation tools.
• Familiar with enterprise application security best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exposure to automation and modern testing techniques.
• Able to provide technical and professional leadership to other developers.
• Background screening completion required.

Overview of Job Function

Verint’s Principal Software Engineer designs and develops key cloud-first, full-stack software products. This role works with Product Management, Development, Operations and Client Services teams to develop creative solutions satisfying technical and business requirements. Additionally, the role provides recommendations to management as to process, technologies, or other improvements intended to benefit productivity, efficiency and/or quality of the solutions developed by the team.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership by influencing the design and architecture of major software components, systems, automation testing, and features

• Help foster the culture of creativity and excellence through technical innovations and thought leadership

• Mentor and train other engineers on design techniques, test automation methodologies and coding standards

• Lead and promote best practices in automated testing and continuous integration

• Improve architecture and code base to be scalable to support growth

• Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Excellent organization, time management, and project leadership skills

• Adheres to strict deliverable deadlines while able to multi-task

• Responsible for architecting applications for the cloud

Minimum Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in design and architect of large-scale applications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field

• Experience developing quality into the entire system

• Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and providing technical leadership on cutting-edge software development projects

• Hands-on experience, across full technology stack, in developing and architecting web applications that are scalable for large enterprise customers

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Able to troubleshoot and identify root causes of issues while liaising with engineering teams, support and end customers

• Experience of full stack development

• Experience of Node.js and/or Java programming language

• Familiarity with JavaScript UI library such as React, Angular or Vue

• Experience with containerized runtime environments: Docker, Kubernetes

• Experience with one of the Cloud hosting services: AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Experience with REST API and microservice applications

• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases

• Experience with GIT

• Familiarity with test automation tools

• Familiar with enterprise application security best practices

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Exposure to automation, exploratory, and modern testing techniques

• Able to provide technical and professional leadership to other developers

• Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, and SS verification

Preferred Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field

• Understanding of Workforce Management (WFM), forecasting and scheduling.
