Job summary

Job description

The Principal Engineer – Robotics will provide lead engineering support efforts for active safety, advanced driver assistance systems and unmanned ground vehicles system and subsystem design projects involving broad design assignments of considerable scope and complexity.

Your Impact
  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards
  • Maintain day‑to‑day management and administration of projects
  • Manage CI and CD tools with team
  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management for IoT system.
  • Design test cases and run testing of the robotic system. This includes running the hardware through sets of tests to ensure performance and reliability. Test for regressions between software and firmware releases.
  • Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning
  • Handle code deployments in all environments
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations
  • Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery
  • Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages
  • Document and design various processes; update existing processes
  • Improve infrastructure development and application development
  • Understand security and encryption for over the air update
  • Responsible for completion of a project or part of a project of moderate complexity on time.
  • May be responsible for overall project schedule and budget.
  • May be responsible for managing multiple priorities.
  • Performs more complex software development, architecture design, engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with five (5) or more years of related experience.
Standout Qualifications
  • Accredited bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer or Electrical Engineering Previous experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations for Hardware/Physical system.
  • Proficient in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with Linux infrastructures, database SQL, CI/CD tools, scripting such as JavaScript.
Pay Range

$91,500.00 - $148,100.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
