Job summary

Verizon Communications is seeking a senior engineer/PM leader in Georgia to guide a team across design, engineering, and implementation of fiber optic infrastructure in major markets. You’ll provide SME guidance, coordinate data, and drive strategic programs while managing vendor relationships.

The role requires 6+ years of experience, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and up to 25% travel. It is a hybrid work arrangement with in-office expectations and strong focus on performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise on multiple Outside Plant Engineering functions, processes, and systems.
  • Analyze data, regional input, and report results with recommendations on strategic operating programs such as FTTP/NT, FTTCS, HiCap and CORE services.
  • Engage with Engineering Support and IT teams to identify system fixes and enhancements and support North Star architecture.
  • Oversee SOW contract management and vendor engagement to ensure pricing and quality.

As part of this network transformation, you will help build one network engineered for growth for all lines of business. You will assist in leading a team of Engineers and Project Managers in the design, engineering and implementation of fiber optic infrastructure and transmission technologies across major metropolitan markets. You’ll develop an understanding of business drivers, technological direction and market conditions necessary for developing and implementing cost-effective and highly reliable fiber optic transport networks.

Providing subject matter expertise on multiple Outside Plant Engineering functions, processes, and systems in support of the Engineering organization

Analyzing and coordinate data, regional Engineering input, and report results, and provide recommendations on strategic operating programs, including, but not limited to, FTTP/NT, FTTCS, and HiCap and CORE services

Engaging with Engineering Support and IT teams to identify and implement system fixes and enhancements while supporting North Star system architecture development and deployment

Running point on special projects as determined by Executive Director or Senior Manager to be beneficial to the efficiency and productivity of the organization, including, but not limited to, business intelligence, data analytics, organizational structure, and partner stakeholder engagement

Overseeing SOW contract management and vendor engagement to ensure effective pricing and a quality product, in the areas of: Spend Management, Task/Unit Management, Sourcing Interface, Staff, Systems, and IT Interface.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
