Fresenius Kabi in Warrendale, PA seeks a Principal Engineer (Mechanical) to drive mechanical engineering across the life cycle of on-market hardware medical devices, software, and lab equipment. You will define hardware requirements, perform 3D modeling, FEA, and tolerance analysis, and support verification/validation with QA and cross-functional teams.

The role requires a strong engineering background, the ability to lead teams, and effective communication in a regulated medical device

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Masters with 2+ years, or a Ph.D. with 1–2 years’ experience.
• Strong understanding of 3D modeling, FEA, tolerance analysis and related methods.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and R&D.

The Principal Engineer performs Mechanical Engineering tasks for the life-cycle management for on-market products manufactured at the production unit of active and non-active hardware medical devices, software, and laboratory equipment. This includes maintaining design requirements, design specifications, and risk management documentation; performing mechanical testing; supporting verification and validation activities. This also includes performing technical and problem-solving activities, in collaboration with Quality Assurance, to analyze and resolve field and manufacturing product issues.
