Job summary

Venture Global LNG in Houston, TX seeks a Contract Principal Instrument and Control System Engineer to join our project team. The position is office-based, Monday through Friday.

You will report to the Director of Instrumentation and Controls and ensure that the Plant Instrumentation and Control Systems operate safely and with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering, 10+ years in instrumentation and control, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering with process control specialization.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience with instrumentation and control systems.
• Experience with plant instrumented control and safety systems (DCS, safety systems, Fire & Gas, PLCs).
• Field instrumentation for process measurement and networks.
• Familiarity with NFPA, API, ISA, ASME.
• LNG liquefaction facilities experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical expertise to support design, installation, commissioning, and operation of instrument and controls systems.
• Troubleshoot and solve controls logic and communication issues.
• Participate in check out of cause and effects and complex loops.

Summary

We are seeking a Contract Principal Instrument and Control System Engineer to join our project team in Houston, Texas. The position is Monday – Friday in office.

This position will report to the Director of Instrumentation and Controls.

The role will be part of the team responsible for ensuring that the Plant Instrumentation and Control Systems operate as per design, in a safe and reliable manner with minimal downtime.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

• Apply technical expertise to support design, installation, commissioning, and operation of instrument and controls systems as subject matter expert.
• Troubleshoot and solve controls logic and communication issues.
• Participate in check out of cause and effects, complex loops, etc.

Qualifications

Required experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering, preferably with specialization in Process Control, Control systems,Control Narratives, Cause and Effectsand Instrumentation.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience working with instrumentation and control systems.
• Experience with:Plant Instrumented Control and Safety Systems (e.g. Distributed Control Systems (MarkVIe&Emerson Delta V), Safety Systems (MarkVIe, HIMA), Fire and Gas Systems, and Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Emerson/GE, etc.))
• Operational Technology Networks,Fiber Optic Network Design
• Field Instrumentation for process measurement (e.g. Pressure, Temperature, Level, Flow, etc.) Fire and Gas,Control Valves, Shutdown Valves (Air, Gas, and Motor Operated), Analyzers (H2S, Moisture, etc.) Gas Chromatographs,CEMS,Flow Metering Systems (Ultrasonic, Coriolis, Differential Pressure, etc.) and their transmission systems (e.g. 4-20mA, Hart,ProfiBus, etc.)
• Alarm Management Systems including Management of Alarm databases and audits against Operating systems
• Power generation systemsGas and Steam TurbinesGenerators, HRSG, ACC.
• Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI)
• P&ID review and development of I&C Scope.
• Industry standards, such as NFPA, API, ISA, ASME.
• Experience in LNG liquefaction facilities highly preferred.
