Position Summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is seeking a Principal Facilities Engineer (Level3) or Senior Principal Facilities Engineer (Level4) to work onsite in Clearfield, UT. The role supports a 9/80A schedule and focuses on the design, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and operational equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and quality teams to optimize processes.
  • Schedule contractors and provide SOW.
  • Take ownership of equipment – write PM plans and manage critical spare parts.
  • Create and work on RCCA Annual E‑FMEA for assigned equipment.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills in managing time, projects, and resources.
  • Monitor equipment performance metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Communicate effectively in a cross‑functional environment.
  • Report machine downtime (RCCA) and support operations IPT.
Basic Qualifications – Level3
  • Educational and experience requirements:
    • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; or
    • Master of Science in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience; or
    • PhD STEM with 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Experience in one of the following areas:
    • Power Systems, Power, Electrical, Electronics, Construction, Mechanical Design, Engineering, Design, Facilities, Operations, and/or Aerospace.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access.
Basic Qualifications – Level4
  • Educational and experience requirements:
    • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; or
    • Master of Science in STEM with 6 years of relevant experience; or
    • PhD STEM with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in one of the following areas:
    • Power Systems, Power, Electrical, Electronics, Construction, Mechanical Design, Engineering, Design, Facilities, Operations, and/or Aerospace.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting high‑rate manufacturing facilities from a maintenance function.
  • Experience with industrial automation equipment (robots, conveyors, machining centers, etc).
  • Troubleshooting electrical controls and 24‑volt systems.
  • Knowledge of Beckhoff, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Kuka, and/or Fanuc.
  • Experience with VFDs and servo‑controlled systems.
  • Interpretation of building and utility drawings and making required revisions.
  • Applied knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project).

Salary Ranges

Level3: $89,400.00 – $134,200.00
