Job summary

Bank of America in the United States seeks a Principal Engineer to lead architecture for Channels Data Platforms and Analytics, guiding modernization from legacy systems to cloud-native solutions using Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, and Kafka. You will set architectural vision and drive cross-functional alignment.

You will define multi-year roadmaps, ensure security and compliance, oversee CI/CD, IaC, and observability, and mentor engineers while delivering scalable data platforms and real-time

Qualifications

• 12+ years in data/software engineering with 8+ years designing enterprise data platforms or large distributed architectures.
• Experience in cloud modernization (Azure preferred), including Databricks (Spark/Delta), Snowflake, Kafka/Event Hubs.
• Strong background in modernizing legacy systems (Informatica ETL, Hadoop/Big Data, mainframe workloads).
• Deep expertise in NFR-driven design: resiliency, security, performance, scalability, observability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develops the engineering approach for the entire program/portfolio solution and works with Architecture to implement enablers.
• Leads planning, definition, and design of complex features spanning multiple teams; explores solution alternatives.
• Creates ideas on designing complex technology and solution development approaches; leads end-to-end testing strategy.
