Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking a Principal Controls Engineer in Albany to provide technical leadership for designing, developing, testing, and commissioning complex control and automation systems. You will set technical standards, mentor engineers, and drive standardization and continuous improvement across the Controls Engineering organization.

You will negotiate with senior engineers and officers, manage programs of critical importance, and act as a subject matter expert while advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of engineering experience in controls/automation.

Position Specific Description

The Principal Controls Engineer will provide technical leadership for the design, development, testing, and commissioning of complex control and automation systems. This role will lead engineering efforts, establish technical standards and best practices, and provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in industrial controls, system architecture, automation, and troubleshooting of complex systems. The position will also drive standardization, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Controls Engineering organization.
