Job summary

Thompson Software Solutions is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to support the development of advanced software systems for a military aircraft platform. This role offers exposure to mission-critical avionics and embedded capabilities that ensure performance, safety, and reliability for next-generation aviation systems.

The successful candidate will join a high-performing, multi-site team and must be self-motivated, with strong time-management and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience.
• C++ development for safety-critical avionics systems.
• Experience with RTOS such as MOSA.ic, VxWorks, and Integrity.
• Embedded application development in Linux (Yocto/RHEL), Windows, and Bare Metal environments.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and work onsite full-time.

Responsibilities

• Support development of software systems for a military aircraft platform.
• Develop, integrate, and test software products as part of a multi-site team.
• Collaborate with program development and deployment teams.
• Subject to government security investigations and maintain eligibility for classified access.
