Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Principal Electrical Power Subsystem Architect to lead EPS design for LEO satellites and novel power technologies. You will serve as technical authority, drive architecture trades, develop power budgets, and mentor junior engineers across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in spacecraft or satellite EPS design, development, and/or testing.
  • Experience leading EPS design efforts, including requirements ownership, architecture trades, and subsystem performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with power system modeling, simulation, and performance analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior technical contributor and SME for LEO satellite EPS design, development, and integration.
  • Lead or co-lead EPS architecture trades, requirements definition, and system-level performance analyses across mission phases.
  • Develop and maintain power budgets, models, and simulations for orbital conditions and eclipse/sunlight cycles.
  • Drive the design and integration of solar array and battery systems and emerging power technologies.
  • Collaborate with systems, thermal, structures, avionics, and software teams to ensure EPS compatibility and interface compliance.
  • Author and review specifications, ICDs, test procedures, and engineering reports.
  • Support integration and test activities including root-cause analysis of anomalies.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and brief results to managers and government customers.
