Job summary

Grove Technical Resources is seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to support Released Product Engineering for a surgical medical device portfolio in Plymouth, MN. You will lead mixed-signal design, systems integration, and sustaining activities while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost optimization.

The role requires strong root-cause analysis, ECO ownership, and cross-functional leadership across engineering, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with 10+ years of experience.
• Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or PhD with 5+ years.
• Experience with mixed-signal board design, architecture, and verification.
• Knowledge of analog/digital circuit design, signals, and system integration.
• Experience with IEC 60601, ISO 13485, FDA requirements, and design controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and system-level troubleshooting of complex product issues.
• Investigate customer complaints, CAPAs, nonconformances, reliability concerns, and field issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis across electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, and systems domains.
• Define corrective and preventive actions and verify their effectiveness.
• Partner with manufacturing and supplier quality to resolve production and field issues.
• Lead engineering activities for released products throughout the lifecycle.
• Own and support ECOs, obsolescence, supplier changes, EOL, and VAVE/cost-reduction projects.
• Assess changes for technical and regulatory impact; determine qualification needs.
• Support supplier/manufacturing issue resolution while maintaining performance and supply.
• Lead and review mixed-signal design activities; mentor engineers.
