Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced FPGA/firmware engineer for onsite work in McKinney, TX to develop firmware for new design hardware and control architectures. You will collaborate with electrical engineering, hardware, systems, and software teams to translate requirements into robust hardware solutions.

The role involves FPGA development/verification, design reviews, and firmware integration on control systems, with occasional travel. Remote work is not indicated and relocation support is provided.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with hardware development and/or integration and a minimum of 6 yrs of experience in FPGA Logic design and verification.
• Experience in testing products using FPGA debugging tools (such as Xilinx/AMD Vivado).
• Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as: PCIe & 10/100 Gb Ethernet/Multi-gigabit serial standards (e.g. Aurora, RoCE, RIO).
• Experience designing with Xilinx and/or Altera FPGA/SoCs (Zynq, Kintex/Virtex Ultrascale and newer).
• Experience with architect control systems including translation of system level requirements into a hardware baseline; collaborate with SMEs to establish new architectures; implement ADDs; generate block diagrams and state machines.

What You Will Do

Qualifications We Prefer

• MATLAB and Simulink w/ HDL Coder.

• Experience in low volume, high complexity development environments.

• Experience designing FPGAs, SoC’s and real-time microcontrollers.

• Multi-Gigabit transceivers, DDR and flash memories.

• Experience with GigE Vision/ HD-SDI, CoaXpress, Aurora, and/or CameraLink.

• Background in Sensor and Read Out IC.

• Experience working on Agile Teams using JIRA.

• Knowledge of control systems such as:
  • PID controllers.
  • PWM drive loops.
  • Applied non-linear controls.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
