DTE Energy is looking for an Electrical Engineer III in Detroit, MI, responsible for overseeing the design and technical aspects of electrical infrastructure projects. The Electrical Engineer III is responsible for the overall design, and technical oversight of new development projects, specifically in regard to electrical infrastructure, including low and medium voltage distribution systems, power generation assets, transformers, switchgear, protective relays, feeders, motors, and associated control systems. This role focuses on ensuring safe, reliable, and optimized system design functionality through sound engineering practices, equipment specification, quality assurance, and system‑level problem solving.
The employee performs job duties from a hybrid work-from-home and a climate-controlled office environment, with a moderate noise level. However, on an occasional basis the employee may be required to travel to project sites where noise levels and environmental conditions may vary.
