Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of IT experience in manufacturing environments.
• 3+ years of experience leading complex projects and IT teams.
• Strong communication with leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Experience configuring MES/SCADA systems and ERP data flows.

This role is part of plant staff and you help advise plant leadership, set and execute strategic vison and set priority for a local DT team to advance our global smart factory vision in Decatur, Alabama.PositionPrincipal Digital Technology Site Leader-DPOLocationUSA, Decatur, ALHow You'll Create PossibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership: Drive the execution and support of plant level Digital Technology (DT) strategies aligned with enterprise goals, serving as a key advisor to plant leadership.Team Management: Coach, mentor, and grow a high-performing local team of DT professionals.Operational & Financial Management: Forecast local IT budget and manage the end-to-end on-time project delivery, resource allocation, asset management.Systems Integration: Partner with operations to optimize core systems, including MES (Proficy Cimplicity), ERP (Oracle), quality management, and OT security solutions.Data-Driven Optimization: Lead data collection strategies within MES platforms to streamline processes and maximize production performance.Edge Technology & Infrastructure: Direct the design, configuration, and maintenance of plant systems and edge devices, including barcode scanners, camera systems, printers, and connected hardware.AI & Innovation: Promote, encourage, and lead AI initiatives to modernize IT and OT manufacturing processes and drive smart factory advancements.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner across teams to establish technology best practices and keep the site aligned with emerging manufacturing IT trends.What You'll Bring to Our TeamMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.7+ years of experience in IT roles within manufacturing environments.3+ years of experience leading complex projects and managing IT professionals.Strong communication skills with leadership staff, team members, and cross-functional teams.Expertise in MES system configuration, screen/UI design, and troubleshooting.Experience with Oracle ERP, including Procurement and integration/data flow design.Understanding of networking and cybersecurity principles in industrial/OT settings.Experience with project management and data analytics tools (e.g., Office suite, Jira, Smartsheets, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).Proficient in Oracle SQL and comfortable reading code in languages like JavaScript.Ability to work flexible hours as needed and travel occasionally (~10%).Preferred Qualifications:Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certificationPMP or Agile certificationExperience with automation, robotics, and Cognex/Keyence systemsUnderstanding of manufacturing IT / OT standards (e.g., ISA-95, IEC 61850, ISA/IEC 62443)Background working with Managed Service Provider (MSP) operationsExperience configuring Proficy Cimplicity or similar enterprise MES/SCADA systemOur CultureOur work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D).
