Job summary

Planet Pharma in Burlington, MA seeks a Principal Software Development Engineer to lead desktop software design and implementation within a cross-functional team of software, electrical, mechanical engineers and scientists.

You will drive architecture, design requirements and specifications, ensure regulatory compliance (21 CFR 820, IEC 62304), perform testing, and support legacy and next‑generation corneal therapy software to meet performance, quality and cost goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or similar.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Experience designing desktop software for regulated markets is required.

Responsibilities

• Create software architecture, design philosophy, requirements and specifications.
• Implement software development and design control requirements per 21 CFR 820, IEC 62304, and FDA guidance.
• Perform unit testing and integration testing of software modules.
• Collaborate with hardware designers to obtain optimum system performance.
• Support maintenance of legacy products.
