SciTec Incorporated in Princeton, NJ, seeks a Principal Software Engineer to serve as Deployment Environments Domain Lead. You will establish repeatable, secure, observable, and reliable practices for building, packaging, deploying, and operating software that supports our mission-critical data processing and workflows.

The ideal candidate has deep CI/CD, containerization, and Kubernetes expertise, with strong mentoring skills to translate guidance into practical examples engineers can adopt

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required.
• 10+ years designing and troubleshooting production software systems.
• Deep containerization and CI/CD experience with deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess current build, packaging, and deployment practices across teams.
• Define evaluation criteria for deployment technologies and patterns.
• Document ADRs, runbooks, and reference architectures for deployment work.
• Build reference pipelines, Helm charts, and starter templates.
• Guide CI/CD pipeline design, artifact management, and reproducible builds.
• Establish container image construction, optimization, and security practices.
• Guide Kubernetes architecture, scheduling, and workload orchestration.
• Improve local development environments and integration testing workflows.
• Coordinate deployment strategies, rollback, and release promotion.
