Job summary

Ally Financial is seeking a Principal leader to drive the Database Security and Data Obfuscation program across the enterprise. This role leads a hybrid onshore/offshore squad protecting data across on-prem and cloud environments, reporting to the Director, Data Security Operations.

You will provide strategic leadership, governance, and technical guidance for DAM, data masking, and TDM, collaborating with Technology, Privacy, Enterprise Risk, and business stakeholders to manage data security

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data security with a strong focus on database security.
• DAM platforms experience (e.g., Imperva SecureSphere, IBM Guardium) or similar.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale data obfuscation (masking, tokenization, de-identification).
• Deep understanding of database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, NoSQL, cloud stores).
• Strong knowledge of PCI, SOX, GLBA, NYDFS and related regulations.
• Experience in banking/financial environments with data privacy controls.
• Power BI experience and familiarity with Splunk reporting.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead enterprise strategy for DB security and data obfuscation.
• Oversee deployment and operations of DAM and security controls.
• Design and implement Dynamic Data Masking (DDM) and Test Data Management (TDM).
• Ensure audit readiness and regulatory exam readiness with strong documentation.
• Mentor team and engage stakeholders across IT, Privacy, and Risk.
