Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is hiring a Data Scientist – Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data capture, processing, and storage for Therapeutics Development & Supply. The role is hands-on and spans Process Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Digital/Data Science.

You will create robust data systems, engineer workflows, and establish value across the development-to-supply continuum, enabling AI/ML applications and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Engineering, Data Science, Life Sciences, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of data engineering experience in scientific, manufacturing, or healthcare environments.
• Proficiency with Python, R, SQL and cloud-based architectures (AWS, Snowflake, Redshift).
• Experience with NoSQL and graph databases.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder-management skills; ability to translate discussions into requirements.
• Ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines for acquiring, integrating, and managing TDS data.
• Create and optimize data flows for structured and unstructured data using Python, R, SQL, DBT and cloud services.
• Develop and maintain TDS-specific data repositories and enterprise data models.
• Enable AI/ML readiness with well-structured, versioned data and traceability.
• Partner with data scientists and digital teams to translate business needs into data products.
• Collaborate with ontology/knowledge graph teams on semantic models and architectures.
• Ensure data quality, performance, KPIs, and governance across data assets.
• Apply data versioning, lineage tracking, and DevOps practices.
