Job summary

Autodesk Construction Solutions is seeking a data scientist leader to apply data mining, analytics, and machine learning to understand how customers use our products and derive actionable insights that drive product and business decisions. You will supervise a team of data scientists and analysts, building models for retention, lifetime value, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Statistics/Analytics, Computer Science, or other relevant fields.
• Proficient in Python.
• Experience with relational SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Hive).
• Experience with statistics tools such as R, Matlab, SAS, Python data science toolkits, etc.
• Experience with data science toolkits like pandas, Jupyter, scikit, TensorFlow, etc.
• Familiarity with Statistics concepts and analysis (hypothesis testing, regression, experimental design).
• Familiarity with ML techniques (classification, clustering, regularization, optimization).
• Experience with reporting tools like Domo, Looker, Tableau, PowerBI.
• Experience in data visualization tools.
• Experience in customer analytics.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Apply data mining, analytics and ML methods to understand customer use and adoption of products.
• Lead junior/senior data scientists and analysts; model customer behavior and trends.
• Build statistical models for customer lifetime value, retention, and related metrics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive data-driven decisions and product improvements.

Position Overview

With the current footprint in construction projects and recent acquisitions, Autodesk is well equipped to revolutionize construction industry. The team is responsible for ensuring that company has an accurate and practical understanding of our cloud platform usage health and ensuring we can understand our customers better and make data driven decisions as an organization and improve product, business, adoption, and sales operation by applying data science. We work in close sync with our executive staff due to our direct impact on Autodesk Construction Solution business.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside a product development team and apply data mining, analytics and machine learning methods to understanding how customers use, adopt and achieve successful outcomes with our products
• Lead junior/ senior data scientists and analysts. Apply statistical techniques to model customer behavior and trends to identify potential opportunities for growth and improvement
• Building statistical models (both predictive and descriptive) for customer lifetime value modeling, retention modeling etc
• The ideal candidate is a strong data scientist who thinks outside the box, is naturally curious, highly collaborative, and has a passion for tackling complex data-centric problems

Minimum Qualifications

• MS/PhD in the fields of: Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Statistics/Analytics, Computer Science, or other relevant fields
• Proficient in Python
• Experience working with relational SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Experience working with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Hive)
• Experience in statistical programming tools such as R, Matlab, SAS, Python data science toolkits, etc.
• Experience with data science toolkits like pandas, Jupyter, scikit, TensorFlow, etc.
• Familiarity with Statistics concepts and analysis, e.g. hypothesis testing, regression, experimental design, etc.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning techniques, e.g. classification, clustering, regularization, optimization, dimension reduction, etc.
• Experience implementing reporting programs like Domo, Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
• Experience in data visualization tools
• Experience in customer analytics
• Good communication skills and ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audience as well

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $129,000 and $189,200. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
