Job description

Precision is an award-winning integrated strategy and marketing agency based in Washington, DC and New York, NY. Powered by data, we bring world-class experts in each of our service areas to conceive, develop, and run campaigns that help our clients seize opportunities and solve their biggest challenges. We're at the center of today's biggest debates and defining moments, inside the Beltway, across New York's media and financial worlds, and in state capitals across the country. Our work sits at the intersection of politics, business, and culture, helping leaders and organizations make an impact when it matters most. We hire people who are the best at what they do, and who like to have fun doing it; we don't just break through. We break new ground.

Our team is seeking a Principal to join our Data & Analytics team in New York, NY or Washington, D.C. This is an exciting opportunity for a sharp, curious intelligence professional to do some of the most interesting data and insights work in the industry — helping translate social listening, reputation monitoring, and AI-powered analysis into communications strategy for some of the world's most influential organizations.

What You Will Do:
Client Management
  • Support and manage day-to-day client workstreams across analysis, monitoring, intelligence, and insights engagements, ensuring high-quality outputs and timely delivery.
  • Serve as a reliable client contact on assigned accounts, communicate clearly, anticipate needs, and escalated complex challenges to senior leadership with context and recommended solutions.
  • Follow Precision client management processes. Help ensure the team is delivering high-quality work within scope and budget.
Data & Intelligence
  • Contribute to social listening and digital intelligence workstreams — help synthesize monitoring data into clear, compelling insights that inform client strategy and communications activations.
  • Assist in managing primary research workstreams from fielding through analysis and reporting, ensuring data quality, timeline adherence, and outputs that tell a compelling and accurate story.
  • Support the delivery of terrAIn, Precision's proprietary Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) offering, helping package and communicate GEO findings in ways that are accessible, strategic, and relevant to client priorities.
  • Execute reputation analysis and monitoring workflows, track client reputational landscapes in real time and flag emerging issues with speed and precision.
  • Produce strategic insights reports and intelligence briefings that translate data into actionable recommendations, helping clients understand not just what is happening, but what to do about it.
Collaboration & People Management
  • Work cross-functionally with strategic communications, creative, and paid media teams to ensure data and intelligence outputs are integrated into broader client campaigns.
  • Support junior staff through day-to-day guidance, feedback, and task delegation; contribute to a collaborative, high‑performance team culture.
  • Keep internal teams informed of relevant developments on assigned accounts; participate actively in internal meetings and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the data practice.
Project & Time Management
  • Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously with strong attention to detail and follow-through. Proactively flag timeline risks, track deliverables, and keep projects moving with limited oversight.
Strategy
  • Bring a strategic lens to intelligence and insights work — go beyond data delivery to offer thoughtful analysis and recommendations that drive client outcomes.
  • Stay current on trends in social listening, polling, GEO, AI-driven discovery, and reputation management; bring new ideas and approaches to the team and help elevate the quality of Precision's outputs.
Business Development
  • Support pitches and new business presentations by contributing research, insights, and data-driven narratives; identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through new ideas and proactive thinking.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in social listening, digital intelligence, market research, polling, qualitative research, reputation monitoring, communications analytics, or related fields. Prior agency experience a strong plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with social and digital listening platforms (e.g. Brandwatch, Meltwater, Sprinklr, or similar) and a demonstrated ability to turn data into strategic communications recommendations.
  • Experience with different primary research methodologies (e.g. surveys, focus groups, in-depth interviews, etc.) is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with the evolving GEO landscape and curiosity about how AI-driven discovery environments affect client reputation and visibility.
  • Some experience managing or mentoring junior staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and workstreams simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Creative, energetic, and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salaries
  • Annual bonus opportunity
  • Flexible hybrid remote/in office plan
  • Retirement plan with automatic 3% safe-harbor contribution from Precision
  • Healthcare coverage - medical, dental and vision with 90% of costs covered by Precision

  • Paid parental leave
  • Professional development stipend
