Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead data architecture, governance, and analytics within the Global Cybersecurity Data and Analytics team in Portsmouth, NH. You will build and optimize data platforms, mentor peers, and drive data-driven security initiatives across the organization.

You will collect, transform, and analyze data using Python, SQL, and modern data tools, delivering scalable solutions and insightful visualizations with Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline.
• 8+ years of professional experience.
• In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies.
• Proficiency in data engineering languages and tools; knowledge of new technologies.
• Understanding of data warehouses, governance and security-minded design.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence.
• Solid Python, SQL, and Pandas skills with big data awareness.

Responsibilities

• Consult on designing and developing complex data programs for ingestion, curation, and provisioning of enterprise data.
• Design data architectures to improve accessibility, governance, and quality.
• Clean and transform traditional and big data for accuracy and accessibility.
• Recommend improvements and drive them forward.
• Develop data visualizations to reveal patterns and insights.
• Provide guidance on Power BI capabilities and usage.
• Occasionally mentor junior team members and lead initiatives.
