Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Principal Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of a modern People Data ecosystem. You will build scalable, governance‑driven data architecture enabling enterprise workforce analytics across Oracle Fusion HCM, FDI, Databricks and Power BI.

The role requires hands‑on leadership, collaboration with HRIS, IT and analytics teams, and mentoring of engineers to deliver secure, reliable data solutions and workforce insights.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, analytics engineering, or related technical data disciplines.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), Oracle Fusion Analytics, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse, or similar enterprise analytics platforms.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Fusion HCM data, HR reporting, workforce analytics, or people-data domains.
  • Advanced expertise in Databricks, PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and cloud data engineering frameworks.
  • Experience designing enterprise data models, semantic layers, governed metrics, and reporting-ready datasets.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business leaders, vendors, and governance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the implementation, configuration, and support of Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI).
  • Partner with HRIS, IT, Oracle administrators, analytics teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade People Data solutions.
  • Define and implement scalable data architecture across Oracle Fusion HCM, FDI, Databricks, Power BI, and related reporting platforms.
  • Design data models, semantic layers, source-to-target mappings, lineage documentation, and enterprise data standards.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, and related technologies.
  • Drive data quality initiatives through monitoring, troubleshooting, governance processes, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure secure handling of sensitive workforce data through role-based access controls, auditability, metadata management, and PII protection.
  • Mentor engineers and analysts while promoting best practices in data architecture, engineering, and platform governance.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of a modern People Data ecosystem. This role will be instrumental in building scalable data architecture, enabling enterprise workforce analytics, and implementing data governance best practices across Oracle Fusion HCM, Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), Databricks, and Power BI environments.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical leader who combines deep expertise in data engineering and architecture with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams to deliver secure, reliable, and impactful data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and lead the implementation, configuration, and support of Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), including validation, security alignment, and HR analytics enablement.
  • Partner with HRIS, IT, Oracle administrators, analytics teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise‑grade People Data solutions.
  • Define and implement scalable data architecture across Oracle Fusion HCM, FDI, Databricks, Power BI, and related reporting platforms.
  • Design data models, semantic layers, source‑to‑target mappings, lineage documentation, and enterprise data standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications in Oracle Analytics, Oracle FDI, OCI, Databricks, Azure Data Engineering, or related technologies.
  • Experience supporting workforce analytics, HR data governance, payroll, benefits, talent management, or compliance reporting.
  • Knowledge of modern engineering practices and tools, including CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps, Terraform, and dbt.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML initiatives, predictive analytics, or advanced analytics solutions within governed enterprise data environments.
