Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Principal Data Engineer to join our Program and CoTE Analytics team. This hybrid role is located in Melbourne, Florida, within commutable distance of the site, and offers opportunities to design scalable data pipelines and data ecosystems that enable enterprise insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s with 3+ years.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python for building and optimizing data pipelines.
• Extensive experience in data integration, ETL framework design, and data warehousing.
• Proven track record of architecting reliable, scalable data solutions in a complex environment.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain or maintain US Government final Secret Clearance.

We are looking for a passionate Data Engineer to design and develop an ecosystem of interconnected business systems, virtualized data pipelines, data catalogs, and end-user consumable data products. You will share in the ownership of the technical vision and direction for a Digital Ecosystem that changes the way we see and use data. Essential Functions

• Lead the design and development of scalable and high-performance ETL pipelines to support enterprise data initiatives
• Architect data integration solutions that consolidate data from varied sources into centralized data warehouses
• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries and develop complex Python scripts for data processing and automation
• Mentor junior engineers in best practices for ETL design, coding standards, and system optimization

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a another related STEM field with 5 or more years of experience or Master’s degree with 3 or more years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern data streaming and batch processing tools
• Experience with modern data orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Prefect)
• Proficiency in leading data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
• Familiarity with cloud data services and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)
• Involvement in strategic planning and implementation of enterprise data strategies
• Experience with UI/UX design and development / Graphic Design
• US Government final Secret clearance
• CompTIA Security+ Certification or Equivalent

8570 Certification Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
