Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Data Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will provide technical leadership for enterprise data engineering strategy, architecture, and AI-enabled data platforms. The ideal candidate will partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions that support governance, standardization, and reusable data capabilities.

They will also contribute hands-on expertise in platform design, technical decision-making, and cross-team planning across multiple squads to help advance modern data and analytics capabilities.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $102,000 – $170,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Define and own the engineering strategy and technical direction for the data platform
• Ensure technical implementations align with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives
• Partner with stakeholders to shape product vision and translate business requirements into solutions
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and contribute to architecture and design reviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field; Master's preferred
• 15+ years of experience in enterprise data engineering, technical architecture, analytics, and AI platforms
• Hands-on expertise with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Power BI
• Strong experience with Data Mesh, Data Federation, and Data Governance
• Demonstrated expertise with Generative AI technologies, including LLMs and RAG
