Job summary

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Principal Data Engineer in Durham, NC to design and develop complex ETL and analytics solutions. You will maintain the enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake, PostgreSQL) and leverage cloud services (AWS) to deliver high-performance, scalable data environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field and 3–5 years of experience in data engineering or similar roles.
• Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines for ETL, real-time and batch processing in financial services environments.
• Proficient in Python, SQL/PLSQL, and data warehousing concepts (Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Bitbucket/GitHub).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and delivering real-time analytics.

Develops innovative solutions to support scalable, secure, and high-performance data environments. Maintains enterprise data warehouse using RMDS (Snowflake and PostgreSQL), Cloud platforms and services (AWS -- IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS), and data manipulation languages and frameworks (Java, Python, and Jason). Develops sophisticated Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline using Maven, Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, and Docker. Writes SQL and stored procedures on relational databases.
