Job summary

The University of Miami Information Technology & Systems Department seeks a full-time Principal Cyber Threat Intelligence Specialist to lead enterprise threat intelligence, AI-enabled cybersecurity operations, and security automation across the university and UHealth.

You will drive intelligence-driven defense strategies, develop detection content and runbooks, and collaborate with clinical, research, and administrative teams to elevate security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 10+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols.
• Strong teamwork and collaborative skills across disciplines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Leads enterprise threat intelligence and AI-enabled security operations.
• Develops intelligence-driven threat detection strategies and playbooks.
• Translates threat intel into actionable remediation guidance.
• Leads advanced analysis during major security incidents and investigations.
• Designs AI-powered workflows and automation to boost SOC effectiveness.
• Collaborates with clinical, research, and institutional teams to elevate security.
