Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Principal Customer Solutions Engineer to lead the NSSS Component Design, Analysis and Aging Management team. The role covers identifying products and services for utility customers and guiding negotiations to secure orders and growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Management and Contract Manager on contract changes.
• Analyze RFQ requirements and lead proposal development from scope/cost estimates to pricing strategies and negotiations.
• Assist Customer Solutions Manager in financial forecasting to provide accurate timing and results.
• Build consultative relationships with customers and operations to position Westinghouse as a premier supplier.
• Present complex technical and financial information to Westinghouse leadership.
• Support opportunity management and maintain the opportunity database (D365) with teams.

As a Principal Customer Solutions Engineer on the NSSS Component Design, Analysis and Aging Management team, you will lead department and engineering teams in identifying products and services that provide our utility customers with solutions to complex technical problems.

You will report to the Senior Customer Solutions Manager for NSSS Primary Component Design, Analysis, and Aging Management and will be based in our Cranberry Township, PA facility. This position is eligible for a hybrid working arrangement and is expected on site 1-2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead proposal development in the NSSS and oversee complex negotiations with customers to obtain contracts which contribute profit margin and revenue growth.
• Assist Project Management and Contract Manager on contract changes.
• Analyze request for quote requirements and lead proposal development; from coordination of scope/cost estimates and development of pricing strategies through complex negotiations with customers to secure order entry and grow backlog.
• Assist the Customer Solutions Manager in financial forecasting (SOPAR) to provide an accurate assessment of both financial timing and results; work with ESS project execution team members to exceed revenue and margin goals.
• Build consultative relationships with customer, operations, maintenance and engineering decision-makers to enhance Westinghouse's position as premier value-added supplier.
• Present both complex technical and financial information both informally and in presentation format, to Westinghouse leadership. Understanding of the interaction of company functions that are touch points to opportunities and projects (e.g., Finance, Legal, Quality, and Supply Chain).
• Facilitate opportunity management and interface with Account Teams and Commercial Integration to maintain opportunity database (D365). Additional interface support activities include Growth Planning, Important Opportunity Review, Marketing Material, Capture Plan Development.
• Develop Customer Solutions Management skills within the organization to ensure Customer Solutions Manager out of office coverage and succession planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field required
• 5 years of relevant experience required
• Demonstrated broad product knowledge of the offerings within the NSSS. This includes knowledge of Reactor Vessel and Reactor Vessel Internals components.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200.00 to $129,000.00 per year.
