Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Principal Consultant for Oracle Health – Microbiology in the United States. The role focuses on designing, configuring, activating, and supporting EHR solutions across Federal agencies, with up to 50% travel and no visa sponsorship.

The candidate will guide workflow decisions, configure solutions, manage risks, and lead client and internal initiatives within the Federal Consulting team.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years total related work experience.
  • 2+ years HCIT consulting or client-facing IT work.
  • 3+ years in roles using Oracle Health Microbiology products.
  • Backend build experience in Microbiology or related labs.
  • Experience with microbiology workflows, lab interfaces, or organism reporting.

Principal Consultant – Oracle Health – Microbiology

Location: United States

Travel: 50%

We are looking for an experienced Consultant to help design, configure, activate, and support the implementation of Oracle Health EHR (Millennium) solutions across Federal agencies including the Department of Defense, United States Coast Guard, Veterans Affairs and Indian Health Service. The Federal Consulting team is a group of hard‑working, knowledgeable, passionate members who want to shape the electronic health records systems for active‑duty service men and women, their beneficiaries, our Nation’s Veterans, American Indians, and Alaska Natives.

Responsibilities
  • Consult with clients on service line workflow, guiding them through interdependencies and design decision impacts.
  • Provide solution oversight, direction and expertise to stakeholders.
  • Drive client‑specific solution configuration design to meet workflow requirements and make recommendations.
  • Mitigate solution risks and issues.
  • Execute workflow and process improvement strategies.
  • Lead client meetings and events.
  • Drive internal team initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
  • At least 5 years total combined related work experience.
  • At least 2 years healthcare information technology (HCIT) consulting, HCIT support, and/or other client‑facing or information technology (IT) solution work experience.
  • 3+ years of overall experience in relevant functional or technical roles including knowledge and experience with the Oracle Health Microbiology product(s). Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus.
  • Backend build experience in Microbiology or other related laboratory areas.
  • Experience in any of the following: Microbiology, discern analytics, operations jobs, Bedrock, PathNet, rules, Cerner Command Language (CCL), laboratory interfaces, reference laboratory, organism hierarchy, State organism reporting.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self‑starter capable of independently handling tasks and projects.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to client contracts and must be based on U.S. soil.
  • Must be able to obtain the appropriate government security clearance card applicable to your position.
Expectations
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% as needed.
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations.
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position.
Compensation

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $71,200 – $158,200 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
