Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) in the US is seeking a Principal Engineer – Connector Reliability to lead high-impact reliability work across the full product lifecycle. You will translate DFMEA findings into targeted test plans and MTBF predictions, driving robust, safety-compliant connector solutions.

The role requires 8+ years in connectors with 5+ years in reliability, experience with ALT/HALT, and strong knowledge of IEC/USCAR/AEC-Q200 standards.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. preferred in mechanical/electrical/materials science or related field.
  • 8+ years engineering experience in connectors/electro-mechanical industry.
  • 5+ years reliability engineering with risk-based test planning and lifetime prediction.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement risk-based reliability test plans grounded in physics-of-failure principles.
  • Develop MTBF predictions using MIL-HDBK, Telcordia, IEC, and related methods.
  • Lead ALT/HALT/HAST programs and reliability demonstration tests.
  • Perform failure analysis (FTA, 8D, SEM) and drive CAPA.
  • Provide reliability input to product design, materials, and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure compliance coverage across DFMEA reviews and certification programs.
